Bryan Mahoney may appear to have everything in order. He’s charming, witty and completely swoon-worthy. In short, Bryan has life all figured out, but appearances can be deceiving. When the landscape of Bryan’s family changes in an instant, he’s left to pick up the pieces.

Not all bruises leave a mark. Now, weary and afraid, Melanie and Bryan must find a way to let love heal their broken and jaded hearts.

4 Stars

Characters- Loved Bryan so freaking much!!! Melanie was very relatable and real. Supporting characters were great and added a nice extra layer to the story.
Plot/Storyline- Great story with a heroine that has very believable and relatable insecurities.  Loved the progression of their relationship and the flashbacks that filled in the gaps and allowed us to see just how amazing Bryan really is. Swoon!!!!
Steam Factor- Bryan is very satisfying in the bedroom <fanning self>
Cover- BEAUTIFUL!!!!! Love that Melanie gets a beautiful shout out in this cover.
Cliffhanger- NOPE! This is a great standalone book that could be expanded upon if Melissa Collins decides to write another interrelated book within this friend circle but you walk away feeling that all the loose ends were tied up nicely.
Overall- Loved this book and would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to read a book about a girl who finds out how to not only love another, but to love herself in the process. Great Job Melissa Collins for writing another story that makes you fall in love with the characters and the story.

This story took me on a emotional rollercoaster. I will admit that I did not favor the heroine, Melanie, in this book initially.  Things she does and her insecurities sort of turned me off, but as I continued reading the story everything started falling into place and I began to understand the reasons behind her feelings and actions.  Melanie is every girl no matter how short, tall, overweight, or skinny they are, we all have insecurities and sometimes, if not often, sell ourselves short in life. Melanie is the poster child for the beautiful girl who doesn't see herself as worthy of love, especially from a smoking hot guy like Bryan.

We, as a reader, get to see Melanie struggle with her insecurities and follow her on her journey to self discovery, self love, and self appreciation.  This journey isn't taken easily.  There are bumps, cliffs, mountains, and heart shattering events that Melanie withstands through her journey, but its a beautiful and satisfying ride that the reader will enjoy and feel.

The hero, Bryan, is the main reason for Melanie's metamorphosis into a stronger woman and he is just so freaking sweet, sexy, and adorable.  Melissa Collins knows how to write a swoon worthy guy, that's for sure.  Bryan is an unexpected surprise when Melanie decides to apply for a computer lab job on campus. I mean, when do you see a smoking hot guy in a computer lab?  Anyway, sparks fly during their initial interaction and never stop igniting. Despite their immediate chemistry, they face challenges; with one being an ex girlfriend that is a huge source of stress on Melanie and Bryan's relationship.

On top of the ex girlfriend, Melanie and Bryan's relationship is challenged by their own personal issues.  These issues combined make for a very fragile relationship that can easily shatter... but you will have to read to find out where this story goes...  All I can say is that the constant questions, the beautiful love, and the challenges these two face will keep you turning pages and will make you feel connected to them on an emotional level.  You'll cheer for them and ache for them, but you'll love every new page you read of their story.

Favorite Quotes:

"I make my way back out to the main room and wait patiently for 'under the desk mystery man' to meet me.  And when he does, oh my dear sweet Lord of all things hot. I was fully expecting suspenders, a pocket protector, glasses, and plaid pants pulled up to his chest. I was expecting someone more along the lines of Sheldon Cooper from 'The Big Bang Theory,' but what I got was Bradley Cooper from 'The Hangover.'  That's two very different Coopers."

"'Just give me time and I'll prove it to you. You'll see just how beautiful I think you are. You'll understand just how much I like you.'"

"I have to laugh because the only difference between Mom and Linda going to a few yard sales and Maddy and I strolling through the mall is about twenty-five years."

"I've changed, but can I really say that I love everything about who I am?  Can anyone ever love everything about themselves?  maybe the best you can hope for is learning how to appreciate who you are without paying much attention to who you aren't.  Maybe that's how I've changed the most. I've learned to love myself for who I am instead of hating myself for who I'm not."

"Be kind. A warm smile with kind words will go further than any ounce of belittling ever will.  The world might not always be nice to you, but you'll find beauty in the world when you are kind to it."

"'We're not perfect, neither one of us. And we never will be, but we can be imperfect together.' His lips dance across mine and happiness shimmers in his warm, brown eyes. 'Then here's to one imperfect day after another.'"

"Ours has always been a clumsy dance to a sweet tune. With lots of bumps and mishaps along the way, we've arrived at where we are not because we did everything perfectly, but because we learned to love each other despite our imperfections."

"'I love you too, Bryan. So much.'  I stretch up on my toes and kiss him fiercely. When I begin to feel the effects of my kiss pressing into my lower belly, I pull back and arch an eyebrow at him. Bryan winks and smirks at me, saying 'What? He loves you too.'"

4.5 Stars

Characters- I love the characters! Melanie and Bryan are so cute together and you will easily fall in love.
Plot/Storyline- The storyline flowed beautifully. The flashbacks really helped with developing their relationship and watching it grow.
Steam Factor- Steamy!!..Bryan is totally swoon worthy!!
Cover-The cover is beautiful. It really portrays Melanie's beauty.
Cliffhanger- No cliffhanger thankfully. This book ends with an HEA.
Overall- Excellent story with realistic characters that learn to love oneself and each other. They grow together and fall together but in the end it all comes together.

Melissa Collins knows how to write beautiful characters and a beautiful story. I love stories of self discovery and learning to love. In this case, Melanie and Brian really go through so many ups and down to get to their beautiful HEA, but it's all put together so beautifully that you can't help fall in love in the process.

Melanie is the perfect daughter, friend and student. She never lets anyone see her flaws. But, when she lets her insecurities get the best of her, she loses that perfection. Melanie is curvy a size 16 with red curly hair. She thinks those qualities make her unattractive and it makes her very self conscious. Melanie can't handle the pressure and buries her pain. Due to all her sadness and guilt, she is determined never to let anyone find out how broken she really is.

When she meets Bryan (Mr. Perfect) she never thinks someone as HOT as him would be into someone like her. He is a computer geek and she winds up getting a job on campus with him. He is charming, witty, geeky and completely swoon worthy. Brian has basically got his life together on the outside, but inside he is dealing with a lot of personal demons.

Through this beautiful journey of self healing and finding love, these 2 amazing people go through ups and downs to stay together. Melanie makes some poor decisions along the way due to these insecurities and Brian pushes her away. But, when love is meant to be it will find a way. Overall, everyone found their happiness, even Melanie's mom which just warms my heart. I like the back story about Melanie's dad as well. Thank you Melissa Collins for this story and for writing so amazingly beautiful. I hope we get more stories about the other girls in the circle of friends.
